Great and Good Friend: I have received the letter which Your Royal Highness was pleased to address to me on the 28th of February

last announcing the marriage of His Grand Ducal Highness the Prince William of Baden with Her Imperial Highness the Princess Mary of Leuchtenberg.

I participate in the satisfaction afforded by this happy event and pray Your Royal Highness to accept my sincere congratulations upon the occasion together with the assurances of my highest consideration. Your Good Friend ABRAHAM LINCOLN.
