Will the Secretary of the Treasury do me the favor to hear my old friend Dr. Henry briefly, about Victor Smith.
A. LINCOLN.
Annotation
[1] Charles F. Heartman Catalog 199, December 8, 1928, No. 111. According to the catalog description this is an autograph note signed. On April 13, Henry wrote Chase a reminder of his application for the removal of Victor Smith, collector at Port Angelos, Puget Sound, ``on account of the unfortunate influence which his continuance in office will exert and does exert upon the public estimation of the Administration in Washington Tery. . . .''
