[1] The Collector, June, 1944, No. 670. According to the description in the source this item is an autograph letter signed. Candidate for secretary of state for Wisconsin on the Union ticket, Colonel Lucius Fairchild of the Second Wisconsin Volunteers was appointed brigadier general on October 19, 1863, and resigned on November 2.
