Thanks for your Iowa election news. I suppose you know that Pennsylvania and Ohio are all right. Gov. Morton telegraphs that county2Jump to section elections in Indiana have gone largely in the same direction A. LINCOLN.

[1] ALS, RPB. Grimes telegraphed on October 14: ``As ever Iowa is erect. We have swept the state overwhelmingly. We could not have asked for more.'' (DLC-RTL). Governor David Tod of Ohio also telegraphed on October 14: ``God be praised our majority on the home vote cannot be less than 30,000 Advise Sec'y Stanton'' (ibid.). Governor Morton's telegram of October 14 reported, ``Returns from county election in Indiana show an enormous union gain keeping pace with that in Ohio'' (ibid.).
[2] Lincoln deleted ``little vacancy filling'' and substituted ``county.''
