[1]   AES, owned by Alexander W. Armour, Princeton, New Jersey. Lincoln's endorsement is written on a letter of George D. Morgan (cousin and business partner of Edwin D. Morgan) to Gideon Welles, September 26, 1863, recommending his cousin N. D. Morgan's son, William Morgan, for appointment to the Naval Academy. William G. Morgan was appointed, but later resigned.
