[1] AES, IHi. Lincoln's endorsement is written on a petition signed by officers of the Army of the South West, asking appointment of Asa D. Baker as assistant commissary of subsistence or assistant quartermaster for the Second Brigade, Third Division. Baker had been acting without pay since December, 1861. He was appointed commissary as of November 18, 1862.
