Annotation

[1]   ALS, RPB. Stonewall Jackson had cut Pope's communications by taking Manassas on August 26. Burnside replied at 5 P.M., ``Nothing from Pope since his dispatch to Genl Halleck which has just gone through. I sent full dispatches to Genl Halleck this morning of all that I know.'' (DLC-RTL). Pope's army was converging on Jackson at Manassas and Lee was moving around to Jackson's relief.
