Lincoln's endorsement to the acting paymaster general is written on a copy of a letter from General Louis Blenker, June 25, 1862, recommending that Captain Gotthilf Bourry, ``In October last . . . sent to my staff by order of Major General McClellan,'' but who had ``only received pay as Aid de Camp since March 20th inst.,'' be paid for his services.
