[1]   New York Tribune, June 21, 1862. Less extended but similar reports appeared in other papers. The delegation called upon the president to present a memorial praying him to decree the emancipation of the slaves, which had been adopted by the annual meeting of the Progressive Friends. Members of the delegation were: Thomas Garrett, Alice Eliza Hambleton, Oliver Johnson, Dinah Mendenhall, William Barnard, and Eliza Agnew.
