Any aid you may give will I think benefit the soldiery. . . .'' The letter also bears a recommendation of Mrs. Bradley, May 30, 1862, signed by Lieutenant Colonel William D. Whipple, chief of staff at Fort Monroe. Miss, not Mrs., Amy M. Bradley of Maine served during May, 1862, in the Hospital Transport Service at Fort Monroe.
