[1]   AES, IHi. Lincoln's endorsement appears on a letter from Captain Charles H. Tompkins, Fifth U.S. Cavalry, May 5, 1862, recommending Private Eugene Sullivan of Company B for a commission. Stanton endorsed: ``Referred to the Adjutant General.''
