I transmit herewith, for the consideration of the Senate, a petition of certain members of the Pottowatomie tribe of Indians, complaining of the treaty made by W. W. Ross2Jump to section, on the 15th November last, with that tribe; which treaty was laid before the Senate for

its constitutional action, in my communication to that body dated the 6th instant.

A letter of the 16th instant from the Secretary of the Interior, enclosing a report of the Commissioner of Indian Affairs dated the 15th. inst. in relation to the subject, is also, herewith, transmitted.
