Annotation

[1]   AE, DLC-RTL. Lincoln's endorsement is written on a letter from Ebenezer White to Lyman Trumbull, October 30, 1861, asking assistance in getting authorization for recruiting ``a Company of Mounted Sappers, Miners, & Engineers'' for General Lane's Kansas Brigade. John Hay's notation follows Lincoln's endorsement, ``Answered November 6, 1861.''
