My dear Sir. Dec. 12. 1861
I do not remember what letters, or notes of mine may be on file, in regard to applications for Pay-Masters in the Regular Army; but I wish the son of the Pay-Master General-Charles T. Larned-to have the first vacancy, which he can have consistently with my former letters, and notes. Yours truly A. LINCOLN
