``Cypher''
Major General Curtis Washington,
St. Louis, Mo. Nov. 30. 1862

Frank Blair wants Manter's 32nd. Curley's 27th. Boyd's 24th. and the 9th. & 10th. Cavalry, to go with him down the river. I understand it is with you to decide whether he shall have them; and if so, and if also it is consistent with the public service, you will oblige me a good deal by letting him have them.

A. LINCOLN

Annotation

[1]   ALS, RPB. Concerning the regiments commanded by Francis H. Manter, Thomas Curly, and Sempronius H. Boyd, Curtis telegraphed at 10 P.M. on the same day, ``Only one of the Regiments named full will try to organize immediately by urging Gov to consolidate & come as near to the request as law will permit.'' (DLC-RTL).
