This day, Dec. 5, 1861, Mrs. Nininger, sister of Gov. Ramsey, calls, with her son, Alexander R. Nininger, 17 2nd. Augt. last, asking to have him placed at the Naval School. Will the Sec. of Navy please preserve this, and give it favorable consideration at the proper time? A. LINCOLN

[1] ADS, PHi. The request of Mrs. John Nininger, sister of Governor Alexander Ramsey of Minnesota, was apparently not fulfilled. There is no record of Alexander R. Nininger's appointment.
