My dear Sir August 6. 1861
Theodore D. Edwards, on good recommendations was appointed Attorney for Colorado Territory, and declines it.
He is a Kentuckian, and declines the office; and asks to be Consul to Demarara.
I do not find an applicant for it on our list; and I do not object to his having it. Yours truly A. LINCOLN.
