[1] Copy, ISLA. The copy in the Association files was made some years ago from the original endorsement on a letter from Representative John Verree, which was at that time in the appointment papers of the State Department in The National Archives. Efforts to locate the original for the present citation have failed. Lincoln's nomination of George Hogg for consul at Trinidad, July 12, was confirmed by the Senate, July 26, 1861.
