Morgan had heard preached by Reverend Roswell D. Hitchcock, professor at Union Theological Seminary, New York City. ``Professor Hitchcock is going to Washington. . . . can you not get him to preach . . . next Sunday morning---and go yourself & hear him. His sermon will do great good. . . . ''
