[1] AES, CSmH. Lincoln's endorsement is on the back of Thomasson to Lincoln, Louisville, Kentucky, May 20, 1861, on the bottom of which is a recommendation by Joshua F. Speed, for appointment of Thomasson as paymaster. He was not appointed to the regular army, but became a captain in the Fifth Kentucky Infantry.
