My dear Sir May 28. 1861
A friend of mine, residing at Chicago, Illinois---Mr. C. Beckwith---has a lady-relative---Miss Elizabeth Smith---at St. Marks, in Florida, whom he much desires to have brought away from there; and he has been induced to think that some of our vessels connected with the blockade could effect this without much trouble. If this is practicable I shall be obliged if you will direct it to be done. Yours truly A. LINCOLN
