[1] AES, IHi. The endorsement is written on the back of William Kellogg to Lincoln: ``Mansion of Prst Lincoln Wdnsdy April 3 1861. . . . I desire to withdraw, the pamphlet and papers I left with you this morning relating to the appointment of Major Henshaw . . . I regret to again trouble you, and hope never again to feel the humiliation I did in our interview of this morning---or again to solicit patronage, that I may not demand as the right of a representative of the people and a citizen of the Republic. . . . ''
