[1] AES, owned by Alfred W. Stern, Chicago, Illinois. Lincoln's endorsement is written on a letter from Brigadier General Hooker, October 21, 1861, inviting the president to appoint the day and be present at the first raising of the flag on newly completed Fort Lincoln.
