My dear Sir Sep. 28. 1861

I do not believe the duty is appropriately yours, but I will thank you if you will have this Indian treaty & amendments put in shape for publication, and also a draft of a proclamation in regard to it prepared. The accompanying notes of the Comr. of Indian Affairs, and of Mr. Usher, Atty for the indians, show, I think, that all is satisfactory now Yours truly A. LINCOLN
