My dear Sir: Feb. 21. 1860.
Your excellent letter of the 14th. is just received. It puts some propositions so admirably that I am tempted to publish them---without names, of course. Yours very truly A. LINCOLN.
Annotation
[1] ALS, CSmH. Olney's letter is not in the Lincoln Papers, and the editors are tempted to think Lincoln may have had it published, without identification. Olney, a Shawneetown attorney, was a Republican presidential elector in the 1860 campaign.
