[1] ALS-P, ISLA. In general agreement with Lincoln, Colfax, U.S. representative from Indiana, replied on July 14 that the great problem was to consolidate the conflicting elements in the anti-slavery ranks and opined that ``he who could accomplish it, is worthier than Napoleon or [Victor] Emanuel [sic].'' (DLC-RTL).
