[1] ALS-P, ISLA. Jonathan Haines of Pekin, Illinois, inventor of the Buckeye Mower and the Haines Illinois Header. The case referred to has not been certainly identified but probably had to do with patent infringements. Haines & Haines v. Talcott et al. may be the case. See Lincoln to Peter H. Watson, March 2, 1859, infra, and Lincoln to Haines, November 24, 1856, supra.
