My dear Sir: Sept. 14. 1856
Yours of the 8th. inviting me to be with [you] at Lacon on the 30th. Inst. is received. I feel that I owe you, and our friends of Marshall, a good deal; and I will come if I can; and if I do not get there, it will be because I shall think my efforts are more needed further South.
Present my respects to Mrs. Boal, and believe [me], as ever Your friend A. LINCOLN
