Annotation

[1]   AD, I-Ar. Lincoln's amendment, along with sundry others reported on January 17 by the select committee of which Lincoln was a member, came to naught. The bill was rejected in favor of a brief substitute reviving an earlier act of March 23, 1829, which was approved February 6, 1835 (Laws of the State of Illinois, 1835, p. 51).
