[1] DS, owned by J. Colby Beekman, Petersburg, Illinois. Lincoln was campaigning in Petersburg on this date. John Allen was a physician of Petersburg, who attended H. C. Gibson, a citizen of Aurora, Illinois, who died in Petersburg while traveling (Sangamo Journal, January 29, 1846).
