[December 27, 1839]

A Bill for an act to vacate a part of the town plat of Bennett's addition to the town of Petersburg:---

Be it enacted by the people of the state of Illinois represented in the General Assembly that the town plat for Blocks numbered two, three, four, and five, in Bennett's Addition to the town of Petersburg,

be vacated; Provided that this act shall be null and void as against any individual proprietor or proprietors, (if any such there be) of the part of said town hereby proposed to be vacated.

Annotation

[1]   AD, I-Ar. Lincoln also wrote the petition to which this bill answers (December 16, 1839, supra). The bill passed the House, and passed the Senate with a lengthy amendment concerning the assessment and collection of taxes in certain counties. It failed to obtain approval before adjournment of the session.
