Winged Eros holding vase in left hand against right shoulder.
Hollow molded fragment from single molded in brown to light brown clay (Munsell 7. YR 5.5/4). The tip of the headdress is missing and there is a hole through the back wall at the level of the knees. There are black stains which might be bitumen, a gouge down the left cheek and hairline cracks down the right leg. Figure describes an Eros striding to its right with the right leg forward. The figure bears a jug between both hands out to the right side and wears a wreath with a frontal glyph surmounted by a now-missing peak or ornament. The figure is otherwise nude. Wings sprout from the figure’s shoulder. The forms employed are chubby, the face is fleshy wit infantile features, the face framed with curls. The digits of the hands and feet are indicated, with the legs in relief. There is a low trapezoidal base, close underneath. The reverse side is not indicated. There is a loop for suspension over the back of the head.
