- Full Artifact Description
- Flask of transparent pale green glass. Intact. Many large bubbles and black impurities. Globular body mold-blown and expanded. Faint pattern of two rows of rings with inner dots. There are possible sunken dots between the two rows. Cylindrical neck rises from shoulder and flares out to funnel mouth with slightly uneven, plain, fire-polished rim. Annular bulge half way up neck. Bottom flattened and decorated with a concave rosette surrounded by a ring of concave dots. Two trailed handles attached over the curve of the shoulder, pinched at top and broken off carelessly at upper end.
- Bibliography: Soucek #55
- Comment: A 10th - 12th century flask from Iran (Glass from Islamic Lands #3.37a) suggests what a sharper, less inflated pattern might have looked like).
