- Full Artifact Description
- Red clay slightly paler than Attic with a good glaze. Reserved: narrow bands at the top and bottom of the rim inside and above and below the laurel wreath; ridge at juncture of body with foot; edge and underside of foot. Around the rim a laurel wreath running to the right below the figures on A and B strip of meander, interrupted at intervals by crossed squares. A: two satyrs. One on left seen in profile walking to right and playing a double flute; his companion also walks to right, but turns around to look back, holding out a drinking horn in his left hand a thyrsos in his right hand; both are bearded and nude. B: two youths. They stand facing each other and are wrapped in himatia; the one on the right has a stick in his right hand. Relief contour right side, from arm pit to mid thigh of the satyr to the right on A. Brown: linea alba, navel-pubes line, ribs, inner markings on legs, eyebrows, beards, hair curls, head of thyrsos.
