Artifact Obverse Inscription: To the gods of the underworld. For Lucius Calpurnius Rufus clerk of the praetorian fleet at Misenum. This man, sent to Ephesus on business, died and there in a sarcophagus of marble he was buried. Marcus Sittus Africanus hid townsman and heir made this memorial at the camp.
Full Artifact Description: Flat grave marker. Lines 1-3 monumental style. Lines 4-8 rusticated style. On reverse is cyma reversa at top and three letters of monumental inscription, probably Augustan Public style. Broken and mended.; Gazda: Inscription. Marble.
