Full Artifact Description
Slightly convex, rectangular plaque. Unevenly broken along right edge; approximately one third of plaque is missing. Complete perforation near bottom left corner; portion of a perforation along broken edge near top right corner. Narrow plain border along left side and bottom. Near midpoint of bottom was a hemispherical vase, of which only the left half survives. From the vase grow several vine stems. At the point where some of the stems bifurcate, a lily palmette occurs. Some of the shorter stems then encircle grape clusters, and in one case, a five-lobed palmette. The topmost portion of the main design is enclosed by an inverted V-shaped frame, of which two thirds survives. The frame consists of a notched band flanked by narrower plain bands. In the two triangular spaces created above the frame occurs a volute form. The back of the plaque is smoothed.
