On behalf of Journal of Sport Administration & Supervision founders Dr. Colby B. Jubenville and Dr. Benjamin D. Goss, I thank you for your continued support of the first open-access, peer-reviewed and practitioner endorsed journal in the sport management field. The journal, in its fourth volume, continues to be one of the only journals in the academic field of sport management that focuses on applicable research — one that we hope would aid in the development of the scholar practitioners of the sport industry.

This edition may be one of our strongest yet, as we have eight quality manuscripts exploring a variety of subjects pertaining to scholarly inquiry in sport management. The articles included in this issue explore topics such as a policy influences in Major League Baseball, effectiveness of selection and recruitment programs in Major League Soccer, administrative issues within intercollegiate athletics such as brand establishment and employment attributes, and relevant issues within interscholastic sport and youth sport.

Additionally, each issue features an Editor's Choice selection that best embodies primary driver of the journal to produce applicable research that matters. This issues Editor's Choice selection is “Perceptions and general knowledge of online social networking activity of university student-athletes and non-student-athletes”, a manuscript by authors Cody T Havard, Terry Eddy, Lamar Reams, Rebecca L. Stewart and Tariq Ahmad. This article took an in-depth look at the ever-growing world of social networking and its implications in intercollegiate athletics from the perspective of student-athletes and non-student-athletes. It's because of insights such as these that will better equip sport administrators on effective application and use of various technologies and issues within the industry.

This is an exciting time for JSAS as we are slated to have our second issue of the year in the fall. As always we continue to accept scholarly manuscripts that emphasize practical application in the sport industry, and I urge you to contact me should you have any questions. In order to facilitate this forward progress, we aim to provide a more efficient review process for authors and to recruit more submissions from scholars throughout the academic industry.

I also would be remiss if I did not thank our reviewers — both on the review board and guest reviewers — who continue to provide excellent feedback to our submitting authors. Again, thank you for your support of JSAS, and we look forward to continued growth and contributions to the academic field.
