JEP, in its effort to anticipate events in electronic publishing and position our readers to be ready for them, experienced its Y2K problems a month early. In sending out the announcement for the last JEP of the 1900s, the servers sent all subscribers several copies of both a blank message and the actual announcement.

Watch this page for a report on how we handled the JEP Y2K bug — as soon as our technical staff tracks it down and kills it. Meanwhile, we apologize to those of you who were hoping that they would not experience Y2K for another month.
