Notes
Received her letter. Henry Dupee came to visit. It is so dry that the cracks in the ground are "big enough to drive a team through." Has been picking strawberries and making shortcake. Dave Dellehoy visited--he is running a grist mill and has remarried. Sam says "his cow has dried up so he cant see her at all." Sam traded his horse for a yoke of cattle and "sold them for a peice of white paper that calls for one hundred and 15 dollars."
