Is acting Sergeant Major of the 3rd Division. All is quiet on the front except cavalry skirmishing. Health in camp is good. The camp is on the bank of the Potomac, opposite Alexandria, and serves the purpose of "Remounting." Has sent five or six letters without hearing from Gilbert. Heard from the Regiment that they are at Malvern Hill.
