At Mozart hall in the evening to see the hear a Miss Van Osten sing, and I scarcefull scarcely remember having ever listened to one with so a public singer with so much delight; slip not but that I have listened to a better, but on this occasion I was taken completely by surprise, The young lady had never before appeared in public, but her therefore, the self possession [sic self-possession] , and complete control of voice, evinced by her was truly astonishing—Should she pfollow the profession of a public singer, with assiduity in her studies, and perseverance, she will attain eminence. It was the best first appearance I ever witnessed. Miss Van Osten is a native of this city—her age sixteen
