Pleasant—Reading & walking A.M. out shopping with Hetty P.M.—Rather expensive Amusement this shopping with one's wife—at every window its [sic it's] —"Oh, how I should like a dress off that" or, "That bonnet would so become me" and other hints of the kind; hints so expressive and persuasive that there is no resisting them although, ~~they~~ indulgence makes one bleed most ~~profusively~~ profusely.
