Mond, 22 Pleasant—Rehearsing, reading & walking A.M. Reading & walking P.M. At Theatre 7 P.M. A drop-curtain was exhibited this evening which is the first of the kind ever shown in this country—It is an advertising Curtain—displaying painted cards of a number of mercantile firms of this city—The painter is Mr H Lovie who receives so much from each subscriber—the price being determined by the place the card occu…illegiblepieds on the curtain—the more conspicuous the greater the subscription—The design is a good one, though not well executed, and no doubt pays the artist well for his trouble—The curtain is furnished the manager free of expense—he agreeing to display it every night, while the Theatre is open, for one year. Neither the curtain nor and the Ethiop succeeded in drawing combined did not succeed in drawing a good house—the Ethiop's days are numbered
