Wed. 3d . Pleasant—Rehearsal A.M. walking, reading, studying P.M. at Theatre 7 P.M. Benefit of Mrs Mowatt and her last appearance up on the Cincinnatti stage. The house was full and fashionable. At the conclusion of the performance I led her before the curtain, in response to a call. The entire audience rising in their seats and waiting for her appearance. She made a very neat and feeling speech and then retired amidst loud plaudits, making her final bow as an actress before a Cincinnatti audience—This is the first time that I ever had the pleasure of playing with her—and it was a pleasure, for a kinder and more agreeable lady I never met with.
