B OOK [sic BOOK] NUMBER 11 July 22nd, 1853 to June 12th, 1854

Winds up his unsuccessful attempt at management of the Odeon in Willimasburgh [sic Williamsburg] . Directs large benefit for the American Dramatic Fund Association. After trying unsuccessfully to get into a New York theatre, decides he will take the best of his offers. Description of death-bed of T. J [sic S] . Hamblin. Makes engagement to go under Bates' management and the rest of the season up to June 5th, 1854. He is a member of the company in Cincinnati and Louisville. Reference to "Uncle Tom's Cabin" travelling company at the Melodian. (Lyceum). Story of "Little Eva". Marries Harriet Melissa Secor, who had been playing in the road company of "Uncle Tom."
