Sat. (Saturday) 17 Rainy—Rehearsing A.M. Letter from George, in which he mourned over his batchelor [sic bachelor] life—I am ~~del~~ in hopes that my fate will not be like his, although I am following ~~hard~~ fast in his footsteps. Thirteen months more and I shall be thirty years of age—thirteen months more must find me a married man or I shall die a bachelor.
