heavy rain—Reading, writing & walking A.M. ditto P.M. after supper called at the "Burnett House" to see Col. (Colonel) Wm. (William) Schouler, formrerly editor of the Boston Atlas, and who, when I was playing in that city, treated me with a great deal of kindness. He has lately purchased an interest in the Gazette of this city, of which paper he becomes the principlal editor on the 1st of next month He received me very cordially, and we were both agreeably surprised to find that we were brother-Masons
