Mond. 31st Pleasant—Rehearsing & reading A.M. Reading and walking P.M. At Theatre 7 P.M being the first time I had appeared for nearly two weeks—Having a good deal of spouting to do, it made me as hoarse as though I had not played for six month…illegibles —Some persons would think it was having easy times to be receive pay for being idle as long as I have been, but idleness is to me the hardest of work—I have no desire to pass a single night without playing—Heart of the World was well received
