~_.,....._. r,_. Thu Lirat Job assgnod to in w vs to suloct and invibo the ccrrnitteo mc:nUOrt. It waus &CU i JA to u a wortirg commrittee, and wo have all had onough e:oorienoo \th voLvary oraiz ationsL o kno- th;t rocuiros as small a committee as possible. however, it also had to bo largo enough to be able to mobilizo the total resources of the community. I think this coumittue moets both requirements. If any of you fool there is someone else without whom we cannot function effectively, I would like to discuss it with you immediately after this meting. Gthosi'sei-'i-li-c sider --comni-piete. Now, I would like to report to you on everything that has been done to this point, and why it has been done. As I mentioned, our assignment from the Mayor and the Governor is to mobilize and help coordinato eol of the resources available to find solutions to our many community problems. It seems to me this step alono, is real progress. Too many of us have been willing in the past to leave the job to governmont, the social workers or a nice convenient financial contribution. We have now had terrible proof that it just won't work to expect somoone else to do the real job. If wo don't agreo on anything else, I certainly hope we will agree that this job requires TOTAL PRiiOWAL INVOLVEICENT from every one of us. And let me make clear that my understanding of our job includes human reconstruction as even more important than physical alone. To get things started constructively, the Mayor designated Dick 3trichartz and red Romoriff as his personal representatives to manage the total rocurocs of thu City government for this purpose.
