~In all other fields, each imember wo"1'A havo the full benefit of the
sub-comrmitten and staff work in any matter brought before the full
Coramittee. In other words, I think this sort of sub-committee and
staff arrangement would lot you get the most out of the Committee's
activities, and help the Comitteo gt the greatest benefit from you.
In this I have no intention of pre-judging or controlling the results,
or propeosing-a-system-in--which any conscientious position wou4-4o..
stifle d--or--ovz::hol ndt.I think this will probably require some further discussion, but felt
it should be proposed, at least as a starting point for our discussions
on how the Committee will function.
g2t~ore~jn order to got things started, would you please fill in
your first, second and third choices of sub-committee assignments
on the sheet at your ple.ce, before you leave today. We will collect
them at the door and notify you promptly when sub-comnnittee assignments
have been completed. We should meet again, next Thursday, August 17,
at 8:30 a.m. here at McGregor Memorial, tobogin sub-committee activities.
At our next meeting I propose that we break down into sub-committees,
moot the tomporary staff, and review the inventory of concerns and
pro-trams which have been developed to that date. In this way each
of you will be able 'to participato in establishing tentative priorities
which will be reported later in ',thiorning to the full Committee. We
can then discuss our next steps as a full Committee.
